New Teslas to have Autonomous Features - Yazata - Mar 20, 2015

Tesla motors has announced that nest year's Model S and Model X electric cars will have perhaps the most advanced autonomous features in a production automobile.

One of them is a 'summon' feature. An owner can tap a button on a cell-phone app and the car will awaken and drive itself to you. (This is supposed to only be used on private property where autonomous vehicles are legal.) There's also a reverse version of this, where a driver can get out of his/her car and instruct it to go park itself in its garage. There's also some knd of auto-pilot feature for hands-off driving in well-marked lanes. Reportedly, beginning this year Teslas are already being sold with the necessary radar, cameras, ultrasonic sensors and computers built in, so it's mostly a matter of installing the software.

The day might be approaching when a Bartlett Finchley being chased into a swimming pool by his 1939 Lagonda coupe is no longer TZ stuff.
