Mercedes-Benz Driverless Car in San Francisco - Yazata - Mar 10, 2015

Google's driverless cars have gotten most press attention, but other companies are working on them too.

Notable is Germany's Mercedes-Benz. Their F015 'Luxury in Motion' driverless concept-car was spotted in San Francisco last Wednesday, for a series of promotional photo shoots.

It's a very cool looking thing, all metallic and super-sleek with a lounge-like interior where the front seats can be rotated around to face those sitting in the rear.

I was struck by the fact that the very prominent cameras and sensors on the other driverless cars aren't visible on this one.

I'd say that this thing looks a lot more finished and closer to market than any other robot car that I've seen.
