Trump, Elon Musk and many others, all evidently fallible and yet they are floating to the top.

If there still are some reclusive / mysterious magnates and moguls who refrain from interviews and having social media accounts... By that very nature of not putting their thoughts and plans out for public consumption, they'd tend to remain underrepresented puppet-masters in the row calls and lists.

I might never have heard of statutory-rapist panderer Jeffrey Epstein if not for his having been Trump and Bill Clinton's friend. However, despite having his own private island, he doesn't really qualify as obscure and shadowy. He was always there to be noticed if a person happened to be looking in that direction or stumbling around on the terrain of educational philanthropy projects. Certainly many influential males seeking a secluded, mini-version of Thailand would obtain awareness of him.
