Are police officer body cams biased? (future fashions in accusatory research) - C C - May 27, 2018

In the land of maybe not so far fetched: Much concern brewing over algorithmic prejudice in artificial intelligence.

But also... Incredibly, via psychological studies there seem to be tentative efforts for figuring out how to blur or usurp the objectivity of BWC (body worn camera footage). Directly blaming the body cams for such is perhaps still a challenging work in progress for social science and academic scholar think-tanks. (Never say "It's Impossible," though. Conspiracy Justice League of America is rooting for you gals and guys to come through eventually with the goods!)

EXCERPT: Sherita Dixon-Cole, 37, of Grapevine claimed a Texas Department of Public Safety trooper sexually assaulted her after she was pulled over on May 20, 2018. [...] After the accusation spread online, the Texas Department of Public Safety released nearly two hours worth of footage of Dixon-Cole's arrest on YouTube Tuesday. The footage shows Hubbard administering a field sobriety test and taking Dixon-Cole to a police station for a breathalyzer test. The video does not show anything that supports Dixon-Cole's claims.

Dixon-Cole's attorney released a statement on Wednesday affirming the body camera footage directly conflicts with what his client claims. "Officer Daniel Hubbard seems to comport himself professionally during the duration of the traffic stop and arrest and - without more - should be cleared of any wrongdoing," S. Lee Merritt said in a press release. "I am truly sorry for any trouble these claims may have caused Officer Hubbard and his family."
