My coming stay at the Hot Lake Springs Hotel - Magical Realist - Apr 14, 2017 And it's haunted! The place itself has a mulitlayered history that intrigues me. In the 1800's it was a hotel with it's own train stop. In the early 1900's it was an infirmary then a sanitarium. During WWII it was a pilot/nursing school. Then part of it burned down. Then in the 50's it became an insane asylum/senior home. Then it became a massage spa. Today it is completely restored to a bed and breakfast and provides a selection of sumptuous rooms with frilly fabrics and antique furniture as well as art and a theater.. It's out in east Oregon by itself with hot springs you can soak in. I will forgo the soak for a nice hot shower in my room. Reported paranormal activity includes piano playing late at night from Robert E Lee's wife's piano, screams from the old surgery room, strange figures in period dress, whispers, etc. I picked May 10th for the full moon. Some say paranormal activity is best on full moon nights. My room has a view of the courtyard. I will see what happens. If nothing happens, it will still be a trip to remember. If something happens, well then I've won the jackpot for life! Wish me luck. http://www.hotlakesprings.com/index.html http://thatoregonlife.com/2016/06/hot-lake-hotel-oregon-haunted/ ![]() Other trips planned (I'm embracing my fringe self!) https://www.internationalbigfootconference.com/ http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:http://ufofest.com/festival-info/speakers/ RE: My coming stay at the Hot Lake Springs Hotel - C C - Apr 14, 2017 Thanks to smartphone availability to swiftly plaster footage of any events online, no lifetime seems complete now without at least one "House On Haunted Hill" type booking. House on Haunted Hill https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/House_on_Haunted_Hill EXCERPT: [...] Vincent Price and Carol Ohmart as eccentric millionaires Frederick Loren and Annabelle Loren, who have invited five people to the house for a "haunted house" party. Whoever stays in the house for one night will earn $10,000. As the night progresses, all the guests are trapped inside the house with ghosts, murderers, and other terrors.... RE: My coming stay at the Hot Lake Springs Hotel - Magical Realist - Apr 15, 2017 I remember that movie as a kid. This scene traumatized me for life! Old place like that should have a few running around at night. They can wake you up by running along the ivories or across the strings inside. Touchweight is around 50-60 grams. The average mouse only weighs 17 to 25 grams. No..you have no evidence rats are playing the piano at night at that hotel. You can't just make up shit. Do you have any real information you'd like to share about this hotel? RE: My coming stay at the Hot Lake Springs Hotel - Zinjanthropos - Apr 17, 2017 Quote:You can't just make up shit. Of course....what was I thinking? The hotel has piano playing ghosts, it's simply obvious and no one, I mean not one person, can make that shit up. RE expereincing paranormal activity....if you wish the best chance you should take someone who attracts paranormal activity. some people(fairly rare) seem to be magnets for such things. while on the other hand some people are quite the reverse. P.S wanted to add, i have spent many years on good terms with people whos parents are/were pastors (grown up in the centre of church communitys networks)etc and have socialised with them & their friends, including non beleivers who have claimed to expereince paranormal activity in group situations where some are christian some staunch non religous and mixes of different points between. i hope you expereince something quite visceral yet non physically injurious. What's causing the piano to play at the Hot Springs Hotel is the ghost(s) of a cockatoo that either lived in the hotel at one time or for some unknown reason flew off course or escaped from somewhere and slammed into a window. One of the reviews I read was from a former lodger complaining about finding a dead bird wedged into the room's wall and one outside the window. Coincidence? I think not. Funny how once an event is investigated how things eventually tie together. |
