USA police first aid for gunshot victims - RainbowUnicorn - Dec 30, 2016
swabs the wound lightly and does not apply any presure and sticks a sticking plaster on it then leaves the patient
leaves the patient several times.
*attempts to get the patient to move.(several times)
walking over the top of the patient risking further serious injury while not in the proces of admnistering medical assistance.
starts going through the patients pockets.
the sheer lack of care by all the police officers and inept level of assistance just literally stuns me. the officer who shot him looks by his actions that he really could not care any less for the health & welfare of the person he has just shot. after some consideration it is this that really bugs me.
i can accept that some jobs are harder than others and these police are not conscripted into their jobs, they willingly choose to be police officers.
Accidential shootings are going to happen, thats just a fact of an extremely violent culture like the USA.
but... to not actually show any real care and have no First Aid skills... (they chose to be police officers)

Even the direct human contact will be gone when the Drone Patrol takes over.

Either I am completely mistaken or you changed the title. Seems to me it was something along the lines of "What’s Wrong with American Patriotism".
He wasn’t using deadly force to stop his flight. He mistook a silver colored box cutter for a firearm.
They have to make sure the area is secure. Most of them lack the medical training and equipment that's necessary. They’re not medical technicians and besides there’s only so much that you can do for a gunshot wound. They called for emergency services and came to his aid 45 seconds after shooting him.
P.S. What does this have to do with American patriotism?

thus, if a USA Police officer is considered a "1st Responder" and is not given medical training to deal with basic common situations(Gun shot wounds in the USA)

assuming the debate was ever had to define what USA Patriotism is...
it would then be interesting to gauge what the public percieve to be things that positively & negatively influence them to feel more or less Patriotic.
P.S for those who would have no idea and may jump to conclusions because they are pre programmed to think a critical inquiry is the enemy....
i am not an "anti police" type of person.
i am "pro government services" and have talked to such like people and have some understand of how crazy the job can be.
whether it be paramedics, fire department or police being shot at they all get attacked by crazy people and people strung out of drugs and people who are just plain bad.

Police are not trained to be aid responders. That's why Paramedics are dispatched at the same time, if injuries are already known or anticipated. As first responders, the primary job of the police is to secure the scene, whether that means diverting traffic, evacuating a dangerous area, etc..
Sadly, people don't seem to be aware that police are often in a heightened state of alertness, especially at night and perhaps in neighborhoods known to be trouble or when approaching a potential suspect. So any pointing gesture towards them can and should be expected to elicit a swift and determined threat response. If they were closer to the subject, they would have been within reach to restrain, but at distance, the only defense against a perceived gun threat is a gun.
