AI Sci Fi Movies - Yazata - Oct 6, 2026 Three post-apocalyptic movies This one has a giant plot twist at the end This one seems to be part one of a multipart series, since it leaves lots of plot lines hanging And this zombie-apocalypse one is really kind of moving RE: AI Sci Fi Movies - C C - Oct 6, 2026 I'm yet amazed that there are sufficient storehouses of footage available out there for training AI to render some of those subtle details accurately and coherently. That it can abstract enough general rules of how the real world exists and behaves from various scenes to weld various image patterns together seamlessly at the particulars level. No doubt the human creators have to coach it a lot themselves to repair and avoid flaws, as well as provide some heavy-handed precise information in their descriptions fed to it... But still. RE: AI Sci Fi Movies - Yazata - Oct 7, 2026 More zombie-apocalypse RE: AI Sci Fi Movies - Yazata - Oct 8, 2026 A seriously strange one I'm really impressed by how good the latest crop of AI movies is. I find them just as fun to watch as conventional movies with human actors. Given how comparatively inexpensive they are to make, it's probably the death of Hollywood in a few years. Film studios will probably turn to making them themselves, if only for economic reasons. They will insist that their product is better. But it's hard to see how they could keep outsiders from invading that space. So they will lose their monopoly on movie-making. I guess that there have always been amateur moviemakers, but until now they have been totally unable to compete in quality with the studios that have the actors and the big budgets. That gap is closing as we watch. RE: AI Sci Fi Movies - Syne - Oct 8, 2026 I liked Matthew McConaughey in that. RE: AI Sci Fi Movies - Magical Realist - Oct 8, 2026 Quote:Given how comparatively inexpensive they are to make, it's probably the death of Hollywood in a few years. I don't believe that. No more than movies led to the death of theater. There have been and still are studios distinguished by their support of the art and craft of film-making rather than box-office revenues. A24 is one such very successful studio. Movies originally started as an art form long before they became big business. Independent film and art film will long continue as testaments to the artistry and creative genius of human film-making. I know I will always support that. A film made purely by AI will simply be devoid of the soulfulness and collaboration of human craftsmanship, from the director and writers to the actors and cinematographers. https://www.facebook.com/reel/1727715218308531 RE: AI Sci Fi Movies - Yazata - Oct 8, 2026 Time travel, it's a pretty good movie RE: AI Sci Fi Movies - Syne - Oct 8, 2026
A24 movie budgets range from micro-budgets under $1 million for indie horror to over $70 million for larger commercial productions. RE: AI Sci Fi Movies - Magical Realist - Oct 8, 2026 "A typical Hollywood blockbuster ($100M+ production budget) averages $864 million in global box office revenue.." RE: AI Sci Fi Movies - Syne - Oct 8, 2026 "Blockbuster" being the operative word there. If they could, they'd all be blockbusters. |
