Paramount trying to spare Strange New Worlds viewers from Kurtzman's weird fetishes? - C C - Oct 4, 2026

John Bonham's son once claimed that in a hotel room Jimmy Page had a meowing woman wearing a collar. Back when Page got him hooked on cocaine at the age of 16. But he was prodded to walk those claims back later on. Actually, a chained cat woman sounds pretty mild in contrast to the overall legendary antics associated with LZ or its band members as independents.

VIDEO EXCERPTS: Geek culture has transformed from a big mainstream thing to a shrinking pie, where for years it has been trying to make the "normal" herd go away so we can have our little safe space. This has transformed the landscape of what you see in science fiction. And so the Hollywood production teams have immense pressure to accommodate the weird fetishes of these people.

I don't know if you've ever been to science fiction conventions or the like, but there's a lot of bizarre stuff that goes on in them during this era. I was at one basic science fiction convention. [...] There were two women decked out in leather. One of them had like cat ears, and another one was on all fours connected to a leash that was being dragged around by the other one in some humiliation ritual thing.

[...] And that's the entire point of this subgroup. All they want to do is parade their fetishes around and stick them in front of everybody else. They want to either force the traditional crowd to adapt or drive them out if they don't conform. And that is exactly what is happening across the board in science fiction and fantasy.

And Kurtzman's Star Trek is at the forefront of that. They can't just live and let live and do their own thing, you know. They have colonized the genre, and the "normal" fans have to adapt to this new world or else leave.

[...] And yes, they were trying to push this even harder in Strange New Worlds. And the network, as I covered yesterday, is dialing a lot of that back through edits right now. You can go watch my video on that...
