On the existence of monsters - Magical Realist - Oct 1, 2026 “A monster is a person who has stopped pretending.” ― Colson Whitehead https://www.facebook.com/reel/2154709735137191 A monster is a pariah and an outcast from birth. It gets used to living in the loveless aloneness of its condition. So being itself, being inevitably the monster everybody hates and mocks, it has nothing left to lose. Might as well be the one thing it was meant to be. Might as well embrace the only thing it was ever allowed to be. Who among us is brave enough to throw caution to the wind and love our monsters? RE: On the existence of monsters - Syne - Oct 1, 2026 Pedophile, murderer, rapist, terrorist...? You want to love them? @_@ RE: On the existence of monsters - Magical Realist - Oct 1, 2026 What do you think? Can we actually see the person behind the collectively despised label? RE: On the existence of monsters - Syne - Oct 1, 2026 Why couldn't you answer the question? @_@ RE: On the existence of monsters - Magical Realist - Oct 1, 2026 (Oct 1, 2026 09:34 PM)Syne Wrote: Why couldn't you answer the question? @_@ Because I don't want this to be argued away into irrelevance. I want it to be thought about and encountered on our own personal levels. Is that even possible for you? RE: On the existence of monsters - Syne - Oct 2, 2026 So you don't have the nerve to simply be authentic. Do you ever get tired of attacking my character? What is wrong with you? RE: On the existence of monsters - Syne - Oct 2, 2026 You're the one talking about "love our monsters." 9_9 You really have no clue how any normal, reasonable person would take that? @_@ If you want to just be evasive, I'll assume I have my answer. Thanks. RE: On the existence of monsters - Magical Realist - Oct 2, 2026 Quote:You're the one talking about "love our monsters." 9_9 I'm not concerned with what you think is normal or reasonable. I'm proposing we transcend all that and start rethinking our need to dehumanize and hate what is abnormal and different. Can you even grasp the importance of that? No? Then get lost. RE: On the existence of monsters - Syne - Oct 2, 2026 So, you love monsters. Got it. |
