The Particle Model and Motion of an Object - Ostronomos - Sep 29, 2026
For purposes of analyzing motion, we can consider the mass of an object as being concentrated into a single point. Where each successive frame of a motion diagram represents the motion of the point. This point is called a particle.
To develop our understanding of motion further, we need to make quantitative measurements. We need to use numbers. Examples of one-dimensional motion include: a train traveling along a track, an elevator going up and down, a bicycle traveling along a sidewalk.
