A new folklore arising - Magical Realist - Aug 31, 2026
Glitches in reality. People report these all the time and they probably are underreported due to the fear of being thought to be crazy or foolish. But what follows from living in a reality that can be so "glitchy"? What happens when an anvil drops out of nowhere on a busy freeway?

One striking example of such is from a TV program of videos of paranormal phenomena I saw. In this video a guy is walking across a parking lot at night and sees a long shadow as of a telephone pole extending on the ground all the way across the lot. But the shadow was not being cast by anything! There was nothing it extended from nor anything in the air above it. He even put his hand thru it and showed it was indeed a shadow. Things like this..

The hypothesis that they ARE crazy or foolish seems the stronger one. "I heard someone saw a weird shadow in a parking lot" is not evidence.

Ahh but then a video of a shadow not being projected from anything IS evident of a glitch, the proverbial devil being in the details.
As with any modern folklore or urban legending, the phenomenon will tend to get reported more and more from all over the world, especially due to the instantaneous broadcast of it via the Internet and places to report such. This suggests to me not that it is being made up but rather that people are prompted to notice and look for it more and more. It will also encourage them to report their experiences when it's realized to be happening to everyone else: "Hey! That happened to me too!"

So you're opting for being the paranoid freak who just can't handle that there are things happening in our world that aren't scientifically explainable That's what I expected.
All the episodes of Paranormal Caught On Camera are available on streaming. You could find it if you were really curious about it. Unfortunately that's the one trait skeptics seem to be sorely lacking in.

No, I simply don't believe extraordinary claims without extraordinary evidence.
Not my job to prove your dubious claims. You've shown those kinds of shows before, and they didn't offer any better evidence. Usually the camera just never manages to pan to the object casting the shadow.
