[...] And that means that in these Democrat strongholds like Houston and Austin and San Antonio, you need massive turnout. You have to get everybody to show up and vote.
But when you run weirdos for a statewide office in Texas, you are not going to get the turnout you need in these places. Some of which are heavily Black, like areas of Houston and others that are heavily Hispanic, like San Antonio. They don't come out and vote for people like Beto O'Rourke. They're not going to come out and vote for people like James Talarico.
We always used to joke that the greatest advantage that the Texas GOP has is that they have such terrible opponents in the Texas Democratic Party. A smart Texas Democratic Party should have been able to dethrone the Texas GOP, which is full of grifters and idiots. It's made the GOP weak. It's made the Texas GOP week by having such weak Dem opponents.
[...] That's the GOP of Texas. And they have stayed in power because the Democratic Party in Texas is so stupid and runs these weirdos who say ridiculous things...
