Farage resigns as MP -- a genius move??? (DIY in the UK) - C C - Jul 7, 2026

"The establishment elites were so terrified by Reform and the populists that they stooped to dirty tactics..."

Farage's resignation speech in full
https://youtu.be/uO8WIB2-WrM

EXCERPTS: We have also built the biggest membership of any political party in the country.... We achieved some huge successes in the local elections. Not only did we achieve breakthroughs in Scotland and in Wales, but we absolutely dominated in the Midlands and the North, the old Labor heartlands. And that is why Keir Starmer is now on his way out. Not to forget that in East Anglia, the Conservatives have now, by us, been reduced to nothing more than a rump.

It seems to me that the establishment has now decided that they can't beat us fairly. So, they've chosen to use foul means. Let me be absolutely clear. [...] I have done nothing wrong. I have not broken the law in any way at all. I have not misused public money. And you know, for the first two years of being an MP, my personal MP expenses are zero. Not, of course, that you'll read about that in mainstream media...

[...] Today I will resign as a member of parliament for Clacton-on-Sea, thereby forcing a by-election, which should happen, I hope, in short order. Now, I've decided that the people of Clacton should be the judges of my actions. This will be a people versus the establishment by-election. It's a chance to stick two fingers up to the entire establishment to frankly tell them where to go.

And that is why I will be putting my name forward to stand in this by-election. I will fight to win. I will fight to continue the political revolution that reform has started. And I would say this to you, the voters of Clacton, if I win, you win. Because if I lose, they win. And we will never, with the two old parties, get the type of fundamental change that we need to fix broken Britain.

VIDEO EXCERPTS: Well, they weren't expecting that, were they? And I think the quite disgusting establishment campaign against Nigel Farage, an attempt by them to try and get him to bow out, to quit, to leave frontline politics, and instead Nigel Farage coming out swinging today in a very big way indeed. And I have to say, what we've seen in recent times against Nigel is absolutely disgusting.

[...] Why is it that Andy Burnham is about to become prime minister with virtually zero scrutiny whatsoever and yet there is this campaign against Nigel? We've seen truly despicable behavior. Also, the rules being changed. So, we've seen funding rules for political parties being changed. Oh, I wonder why that is. We even saw the Greater Manchester Mayoral by-election, the election rules, the election system changed to that as well.

But Nigel today making a stand against the establishment, vowing now to trigger a by-election in Clacton, one in which he'll stand. This will be a people versus the establishment by-election. (MORE - video)

INTRO: Nigel Farage has dramatically resigned as MP for Clacton in a bid to force a by-election he says will pit “the people” against the political establishment. The Reform UK leader insists he has done nothing wrong, despite mounting scrutiny over undeclared financial support including a separate row over a £5 million gift and claims about benefits from close ally George Cottrell. Farage says voters in Clacton should judge him directly, but rivals say he is trying to turn a standards scandal into a political stunt. The move sets up a huge test of whether Farage can turn personal controversy into a fresh populist victory.

Hah thats funny on so many levels.

Farage has been pushing his brainwashing to the nation for a while, GBNews ran nearly 24/7 with how Keir Starmer was terrible and should quit. It wasn't because he was that, it was just the constant output over television and radio day in and day out, that eventually got Keir to step down.

While they might pat themselves on the back claiming they've done the country a favour, the idiots actually nurtured and fed a monster that was only going to grow in size and want more.

Thats the state of the country currently with the foreign social media reposts and distortions, the memes of mob mentality, the true nature of the architects attempting to undermine our nation to line their pockets.

That monster, (the proverbial beast from that combination.) now intends to feast on Farage and of course he will blame the establishment, he'll ring the alarm bells, he'll rally the family... however it's a monster of his own creation. (Villagers with torches and pitchforks sounds familiar.)

It's not just the media after Farage. He's being investigated, but I assume you think that's 100% warranted.
And I guess no one agreed that Starmer had done a bad job. It was just all media.

Quote:“You can fool all the people some of the time and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.”

I never said 100% of people believed or agreed with anything at any time, it's never usually the case.

The point is no Leader has 100% of the opinion ratings, 100% of the backing. There will always be a margin that are in opposition for oppositions sake, let alone actual followers of a competitor.

The reality is that we are ruled by minorities (<=49%) and those minorities can blatantly lie or manipulated to perpetuate a lie.

No one said anything about 100% agreement or backing.

Literacy is amazing!

I assumed it to be a question with a missing question mark. You imply that I assumed that 100% of the public back it, which I don't. That however doesn't mean that it's 100% not warranted either!

"...I assume you think that's 100% warranted."
"you" are not the public, in general. Simple English.

warranted - justified or well-founded.

Has nothing to do with public backing.
