Texas candidate James Talarico: "There are six genders" (Democrat adages network) - C C - May 29, 2026

Wow. Talk about pandering just to draw the praise of the NYT and WP. Especially the disingenuous "trans children" baby-kissing reply. (Just happens to non-strategically be what's on his mind?)

VIDEO EXCERPTS: The governor of Texas came on the air and he said by the time this thing's over, it's not going to be close because we're going to tell everybody just who James Talarico is. [...] Here's the new Ken Paxton ad framing up the same clips we showed you the last couple days...

This is Texas. This is not.

"There are many more than two biological sexes. In fact, there are six."

This is Texas. This is not.

"The American flag is such a complicated symbol for most of us."

This is Texas. This is not.

"They're going to call me a radical leftist."

This is Texas. This is not.

"How about something that you love that's not family or friends?"

"Um, I love -- and I'll just say this because it's on my mind -- the trans children."

This is Texas. This is not.

"Our southern border should be like our front porch. There should be a giant welcome mat out front."

This is Texas. This is not.

"It is now existential that we try to reduce our meat consumption. I am proud to say that our campaign has officially become a non-meat campaign."

This is Texas. This is not...

I agree that the binary of male vs female gender is becoming outdated. Gender, in the sense of being categorized purely based on our sexuality/identity, is rather fluid from person to person. I don't know about there being six genders. I am more in favor of defining gender as a spectrum in which there are varying shades between the extremes of hypermasculinity to hyperfemininity. There are even degrees of a-genderedness, like androgynous people.

Yah, 72 genders minimum. Though many of them just seem to be composites of the male/female poles rather than something completely different. In that sense it's kind of like the two-color technicolor system that Fay Wray's Mystery of the Wax Museum was filmed in. Lots of varying shades built from the two, but not as many as the three primary-color system (blue-dependent hues were noticeably missing).

"Gender" should probably be replaced with something else, to encourage getting away from the constraints of genital resonances altogether. Don't know what term would suffice, though -- "sona" is all I can come up with. Via dropping the first syllable of "persona". Indigenous Canadians already have "spirit" claimed...

Talarico actually claimed there are six "biological genders," which is obvious nonsense.
And good luck selling that kind of stuff to Texans.

It's amusing watching all the MAGAs that don't even believe in evolution running to biology to confirm gender to be assigned at birth.

False dilemma. The science of biology is true, whether that biology evolved hundreds of thousands of years ago or not.
