I've seen photos and at least one credible video of robed and/or winged beings of light engaged in some sort of protective mode. The video I saw glimpsed such a figure one night standing on a cliff overlooking the ancient fortress of Masada lifting a sword to the sky. Photos of them tend to catch them watching over children. If this isn't a perfect fit for the guardian angel archetype I don't know what is!
