What Tim Urban Saw in Bhutan - Yazata - Nov 26, 2025 Great little four minute travel video of Tim Urban's visit to Bhutan. It's a little Buddhist kingdom with a very unique culture located in the Himalayas nestled between (Chinese occupied) Tibet and India. Its culture and ethnicity is very similar to Tibetan, but a different Buddhist order (Kagyu) is dominant in Bhutan, where it took refuge after the Gelug order became dominant in Tibet. The video shows how despite being very poor in Western dollar terms, Bhutan's quality of life is surprisingly high. If Shangri La was a country, this might be it. https://x.com/waitbutwhy/status/1993403189262270825 RE: What Tim Urban Saw in Bhutan - Magical Realist - Nov 26, 2025 Fascinating culture.
