The Paradox of Nothingness - Ostronomos - Sep 12, 2025 Quote: I don't think you've read the whole thing. I am at a quarter of the first post, edging my way through it. Quote:If the world is logical then it is subject to the rules of logic. Terms in a sentence are qualified by the copula using a form of the words is or is not. By applying the words is not to the concept of being as a whole you will get the concept no being or nothingness. And since it applies to the whole it is absolute by definition. This is a most fascinating read. Do you believe ideas are thus tangible. Could this imply that we "create" concepts and these concepts, like the Prime Observer's, can assume their own independent form and function? Quote:Alumno deVerum said: Does this imply purpose? RE: The Paradox of Nothingness - Magical Realist - Sep 14, 2025 Just as thinking Being is to think, thinking Nothingness is to stop thinking. Which can be good sometimes. Sometimes it's good not to think and to be in the mode of thoughtless spontaneous becoming. Like we are when listening to sublime improvised violin solos on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Nothingness isn't all bad. In fact it may be the very essence of freedom. |
