Just struck me that "The White Lotus" might be influenced a bare tad by "Fawlty Towers". Especially with respect to the character "Armond" in the first season, who is the resort manager. Even a bit with Sabrina Impacciatore's role in the second season. She's not remotely as gonzo a manager as Murray Bartlett's, but still faintly echoes Basil (John Cleese) in FT -- occasionally.
Note that it is an anthology series, but there's still some slight crossover between the independent seasons (in one & two, anyway). Haven't made it to the 3rd season yet. Ergo, the trailers below only depict the first and second. Surprisingly balanced when it comes to the political stuff -- everybody gets poked at.
