A Christian's case against posting the Ten Commandments in schools - Magical Realist - May 4, 2025 Couldn't have put it any better. Will it make any difference? Probably not. It's Texas after all. https://www.facebook.com/reel/1385463635608035 RE: A Christian's case against posting the Ten Commandments in schools - Syne - May 4, 2025 There's also plenty of black people who are against welfare and police reform, women against abortion and transgenders, etc.. Does that lend them any special standing to be among the effected? RE: A Christian's case against posting the Ten Commandments in schools - confused2 - May 4, 2025 I get the impression 'Thanksgiving' is quite deeply embedded in European American culture. It makes sense for those (originally) fleeing persecution for their beliefs to find ways of making people that don't share those beliefs to be at least uncomfortable and at best persuade them to sod off back to wherever they came from. No point in having leverage if you don't use it .. kind of like holding a trump (Trump?) card and not using it. RE: A Christian's case against posting the Ten Commandments in schools - Syne - May 6, 2025 IOW, you can't defend why you think it matters that a Christian doesn't like posting the Ten Commandments. Got it. RE: A Christian's case against posting the Ten Commandments in schools - Magical Realist - May 6, 2025 I just like the argument itself having once been a devout Christian. Of course that doesn't serve your political black and white agenda, but then who cares? RE: A Christian's case against posting the Ten Commandments in schools - Syne - May 6, 2025 No, you're just afraid to engage with the simple analogies I've made. |
