Surfing the synchronicity wave - Magical Realist - Mar 8, 2025 "Years ago, I began keeping a list of synchronistic experiences I’ve had. I offer some of them now as food for thought. Some students of synchronicity have claimed that instances are experienced more frequently when you travel...." https://danhagen-odinsravens.blogspot.com/2013/01/surfing-synchronicity-wave.html I have noticed within the past year or so an increase in the frequency of synchronistic events in my life. Most involve coincidences between two media, like the TV and my laptop, probably because I spend most my time on those two media. The other day I was doom scrolling down my FB newsfeed and just as I came to an ad about the movie "Ghost" the announcer on The Price Is Right mentions the movie "Ghost". A day or so later I was reading something about the Ego when a commercial for a power tool came on with the brand name of "EGO". Once, right after I had finished watching the horror film "Under The Skin" I switched to the TV and Angela Basset starring on the show 911 says something about a cadaver being "under the skin." Then one time when I was driving just as I saw a "Detour" sign in front of me a commercial on the radio says the word "detour." The list is endless. And while most incidents are completely trivial, even so this article assures me that I'm not the only one. I agree with him that anger and frustration stops it from happening. The common state I'm in when it happens tends to be an interested and scanning engagement of my mind with something, like reading or writing or browsing or driving, while totally ignoring the audio in the background. Then when the word or phrase I am looking at is spoken, it suddenly snaps me out of my visual mode with amused surprise. It's like a little playful nudge from the Universe. RE: Surfing the synchronicity wave - C C - Mar 10, 2025 I've encountered a streak of several in just the last couple of days. |
