Evolution of Atomic Structure? - Ostronomos - Dec 21, 2024 Science as you all know, has undergone a lot of changes since the ancient Greeks. The Greeks were very adamant about remaining consistent about the four elements of earth, fire, air and water such that they assumed light must be a form of fire that emerged from the eye. With a little logic fire from the eye was dismissed as unnecessary. But it took centuries with the development of a better understanding of lenses and mirrors in the 11th century A.D. The idea of atoms was revived by John Dalton, an English Chemist. In 1800 he suspected that all matter was composed of building blocks. It was not until J.J.
