Reminds me of a neighbor family that seems to spend most of their income on an array of different types of insurance. Battling future threats before their time.

I somewhat a dislike insurance.   I see potential problems with it.  The only insurance that I have is Medicare.  Insurance companies are usually for profit, appearing to me as a potentially having a conflict of interest.  Then medical providers might try to over treat patients if they think the funding is available.  Even though people in the United States get pretty much medical treatment compared to other countries, our life expectancies don't seem proportionally higher.
