INTRO: Self-styled “old-school liberal” Bill Maher has blasted progressive leaders of “woke” cities — including New York City — as being hypocritical in crying foul over the mass influx of asylum seekers. The HBO host said that sanctuary cities have been “hoist with their own petard” by signaling that they welcome migrants, just to panic and complain when they actually get shipped in from overwhelmed border states.
BM: "Just stop the [virtue] posturing. Don't pretend that you love migrants so much and then when we send them to you, you don't like them. You are so full of (bleep) and we can see that. Yeah, you like them when it wasn't your problem because you're not a border state. And then when they show up in Chicago and New York you're like, what the (bleep) are we going to do with these people?"

I love Bill Maher. He represents the old humanistic liberalism that still upholds the values of equality and compassion for everyone. I hate that it has been hijacked by a posturing wokeness that just complains and criticizes for the hell of it. If these sanctuary cities are really serious then they would find places for these migrants to live. Portland doesn't have a migrant problem but they do have a homeless problem. Our governor has poured millions in funding to relocate these people into housing and shelters. Walk the walk I say as you talk the talk.
