I think after AI starts replacing human beings in various service industries there will be a backlash among customers to prefer companies that still provide real humans. Just like the automated phone trees everybody hates, people will express a desire for the good ole days when we were met with a smiling face and a pleasant voice to do our business. After awhile though the AI will prevail for it's superior convenience and efficiency, as it eventually did with ATMs vs bank tellers. But the human tellers never went completely away.

For years I've written odd bits of software for my rich friend and suddenly with ChatGPT he no longer needs me. All good for me since he never paid me (see 'how to get rich') but not so good for many others. One site suggested only 134,000 programmers in the whole US so no seismic wave if they all get sacked.
