Juniper was the primary firewood available. That's why embers were popping out like crazy and one of them burned Sam's penis. They caught more crayfish than what the edited footage of the show's episode seemed to indicate. They also ate purlsane and animals like ground squirrels, lizards. I don't recall seeing the show including those kills (maybe I missed them) -- just the rattlesnake, and the hare at the end that she got with an arrow.

EDIT: It's now vaguely coming back to me, though, unless they're false memories.
