Amateur Rocketry - Yazata - Nov 8, 2022 These guys built a very sophisticated two-stage solid-fueled rocket, conducted lots of tests and calculations, and launched the finished product from the Black Rock Desert in Nevada north of Reno (near where Burning Man is held). And it went off entirely successfully hitting 293,488 feet (90 km) in the Mesosphere almost to the Karman line. Payload was video and still cameras (Gopros). As far as I know, this is a new altitude record for amateur rockets. https://www.rocketryforum.com/threads/project-mesos-a-two-stage-flight-to-293-488-ft.175175/ https://space.skyrocket.de/doc_lau/mesos.htm |
