Kokichi Sugihara's Impossible Objects - Yazata - Oct 13, 2022 Objects which transform topologically when rotated or seen through a mirror Or at least seem to. It's all optical illusion where what seems to appear is physically impossible. It's based on the principle that many different 3-D shapes can create the same 2-D image, such as what's seen in a mirror, a video image, or even the image on our retinas. Sugihara's rather elementary discussion of their properties and how to construct them https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.1080/17513472.2017.1368133?from=hackcv&hmsr=hackcv.com&utm_medium=hackcv.com&utm_source=hackcv.com A nontechnical paper in which he presents several different kinds of impossible objects https://archive.bridgesmathart.org/2020/bridges2020-329.pdf A paper in which he gets more into the psychology of perceiving these objects https://catalog.lib.kyushu-u.ac.jp/opac_download_md/1546874/p016.pdf Sugihara on impossible motion illusions https://m-repo.lib.meiji.ac.jp/dspace/bitstream/10291/19882/1/perception_43_9_1001.pdf RE: Kokichi Sugihara's Impossible Objects - Magical Realist - Oct 14, 2022 Exploding head alert!
