This always sounds better (to me) than it actually is. My grandmother on my dad's side used to make this, and it was good...comforting, even. But, you know...those older generations cooked with love. Maybe that's the missing ingredient these days.

When I was courting Mrs C2 I used to make pea and bacon soup - cooking with love and bacon - worked for me.
