Self containment and transcendence - Magical Realist - Jul 7, 2022
By self-containment or absolutivity I refer to an entity or world system that contains itself in all respects. There is no outside to it. It's all inside. Such is the case of the physical world, with its principle of causal closure. Such is the case for the mental world, with its principle of solipsism. And such is the case of Leibniz's windowless monads. In eastern religion we are enslaved in the self-containment of karma, hung up on the wheel of endless reincarnations. In Gnosticism we are trapped inside the binding darkness of matter. In Christian theology hell is the state of total isolation--of the self in love with only itself.
Is there a possibility of transcending self-containment? Of escaping the unending repetitiousness of absolutivity? What does the outside of physicality even look like? Perhaps it is thru the dialectic of the coexistent physical and mental self-containments that a miracle of transcendence emerges. That imo is a spiritual path, and can only be reached thru the recognition of a third open-ended mode of the Soul. We transcend the physical AND the mental thru the creative flux of the soul in its connection to the Infinite Possibility which always lies totally beyond it. It is nothing less than the union of the opposing Yen and Yang into a third and higher state of unifying self-awareness. It is enlightenment, redemption, gnosis, nirvana, apotheosis, wholeness.

It's probably matryoshka dolls all the way up.
Though to avoid the homunculus or recursive fallacy, they might not "look the same" or be homogeneous in their manner of being. Only the general theme continuing of each level having a prior in rank one that could be construed as its "provenance" (despite all co-existing).

Good thought. You may just be right about that. In fact there may be several ways to transcend self-containment, death not being the least among many Godelian maneuvers. Fortean events without explanation may be another. Think of these maneuvers as godless miracles--wormholes burrowing under that flashy fascade of material existence.

Define fortean.
Godelian maneuvers are few and far between. Dreams among them. Recall CC's thread about consciousness as the 4th dimension. It functions as a higher dimensional mechanism that unites the two halves we call the subjective and the objective. Most don't get to see that, hence atheism and lower levels of misunderstanding. This material world is but a fascade. My triumphant exposure of actual freedom and Richard is proof of that.

Fortean denotes any paranormal phenomena including strange anomalous events as well. Poltergeists, frogs falling from the sky, spontaneous human combustion, amazing coincidences and synchronicities, demonic possessions, earth lights, ufos, stigmata, bigfoot, sea serpents, time travel, miraculous healings and levitations, undersea glowing wheels, etc. Any leakage of the otherworldly into our mundane worldly plane.

The infinitely downspiraling movement of the fractal comes to mind, every revolution repeating the previous except for the slight differentiations of its almost self-similar iterations.
