"...without needing to appeal to religious ideology..." Funny thing, though: It's still being posted in Religions & Spirituality. Wink

EXCERPTS: [...] “In one such scheme proto-conscious experience is a basic property of physical reality accessible to a quantum process associated with brain activity.” [...] “Let’s say the heart stops beating, the blood stops flowing, the microtubules lose their quantum state. The quantum information within the microtubules is not destroyed, it can’t be destroyed, it just distributes and dissipates to the universe at large. If the patient is resuscitated, revived, this quantum information can go back into the microtubules and the patient says “I had a near death experience”. He adds: “If they’re not revived, and the patient dies, it’s possible that this quantum information can exist outside the body, perhaps indefinitely, as a soul.”

[...] This account of quantum consciousness explains things like near-death experiences, astral projection, out of body experiences, and even reincarnation [...] without needing to appeal to religious ideology. On top of anecdotal evidence, philosophical arguments, and scientific evidence, we now also have a theoretical framework that can accommodate the existence of the soul....

RE: Theory Explains The Soul & The Afterlife - Magical Realist - Jul 24, 2015

I have a hard time understanding what the afterlife will be like. I was graced with a sign by my own expired mother and so feel certain there is survival. But what do you do over there? Is it a world like this one only with all the people who have died. Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven jam sessions? New plays by Shakespeare and Tennesee Williams? Spiritual lectures by Buddha, Jesus, and Plato There must be some grand collective enterprise everyone is participating in over there. The elevation of humanity past its barbaric nature. An evolutionary quest towards higher levels of conscious even psychic being. The exploration of other worlds and dimensions. What an exciting adventure.
