I've been known to drink milk in a box from Dollar Tree. It only costs a dollar and tastes like regular milk when refrigerated. It's ultrapasteurized and keeps well at room temperature if the box isn't opened. Has to be refrigerated after that. Not so far off from the old cartons you'd have to tear open and fold back. Remember when milk was delivered in bottles? I don't. We sell a lot of shelf stable UHT (Ultra Heat Treated) milk in boxes including a wide range of "alternate milk beverages" made from almonds, oats and a variety of other plant products. It is very helpful for people living in cabins and the more remote communities. I usually have some in the pantry for emergency use. Great for baking and puddings but my kefir prefers the regular refrigerated milk.
