What's scary is that at some point in the future the majority of the academic community will regard this as fact (or at least publicly conform to that view despite private reservations). Just as moral-posturing wise they accept systemic racism/sexism pervading every nook of the rest of society (including such being behind STEM imbalances). Abuse of social justice crusading is the weapon that anti-naturalists and pre-modernists having been seeking for generations to magically cause the brains of scientists and intellectuals to fall out.
