I finally (finally!) saw this. Nice period piece, and well restrained.
I can see the need for yet a third story interwoven with the ones of Basil and Edith, but that was quite a bit of creative license they took with Piggott and his wife. OTOH, such aspects to be expected with any "true story" film. If not the "Ryan's Daughter" angle with a Woke update, then something else.
A tad surprising that Edith gave birth to Robert at the age of 47 (the first and only child to boot), though that's a distant cry from even long bygone world records.
