When Americans Say They Believe in God, What Do They Mean?

God speaks to them in many ways, doesn't he?

He spoke to Noah, Abram, Moses, Isaiah, etc. He even spoke to Moses through a burning bush. He speaks through creation, scripture, his son (aka, himself…weird), angels, prophets, dreams, visions and miracles. Oh, yeah, and let’s not forget about the donkey.

I’m not the enabler here. I don’t push that junk, nor do I defend it, or try to justify it.

It is actually both you and syne who are deluded, not me.

Why you ask? Simply because the both of you believe only in what the matrix tells you to believe. I however, being one of the only people on earth to have access to what lay beyond it, am anything but deluded. Call it a kind of super-sanity.

Atheism is a delusion. Just like evil or "blind belief".

The only person between the three of us who does not have "blind belief" is me.

Many Christians, or people in general for that matter, don't really understand the difference between subjective and objective truth. But no matter how true they assert their beliefs to be, when pressed, most would admit they are beliefs...no matter how much "proof' they think they have for them.

Aside from cults, Christians themselves do not say they want to be in charge of your life. They want you to have the same relationship with god that they do. Nor is it "beings", plural. So this whole thing is a straw man. But then...it is The Guardian after all.

Again, a quote from a atheist character is a straw man of religious people. Most Christians believe god talks to them...without any symptoms of mental illness.

Many Christians, or people in general for that matter, don't really understand the difference between subjective and objective truth. But no matter how true they assert their beliefs to be, when pressed, most would admit they are beliefs...no matter how much "proof' they think they have for them.

This group would not include me as I have undeniable, unparalleled proof of the existence of God.
