I totally support the police. I just make a distinction between good cops and bad cops. Defunding the police is like burning down the house to get rid of mice. Crime would run rampant without them.

There can be few places on the planet that haven't heard of New York's Finest.

Only if you believe there are more bad people than good in the world. If more good people are armed, fewer bad people will have ready victims.

Why not everybody be bad? Take your shotgun along when you answer the door.

Is it preferable to give control to a relatively small number of individuals who can be closely monitored or simply give everyone a gun and let them fight it out on the street?
If/when the population at large loses faith in the police then maybe guns on the street are the only answer.

Back to Frontier Justice. If you aren’t forming a posse and lynching someone then you’re either duelling in the streets or waiting for the Marshall to show up and do the same. However if you don’t want law enforcement but would like to keep the bad guys looking over their shoulder then bring back the bounty hunter.
