So if there’s an idiot in front preventing me from doing the speed limit then I’m a maniac? Slow drivers seem totally oblivious to what’s around them. They could cause a ten car pile up in behind and just continue on like nothing’s happened.
I encountered a driver on the road once....he was dead, thanks to a drunken maniac. That’s the problem, idiots and maniacs continue to drive.
Oops! Sorry I didn’t know the dead guy’s political leanings or sexual orientation but I was sure he wasn’t acting, nor was it Syne.

I see this kind of thing all the time (guess why). The responsible drivers behind the idiot get closer and closer and angrier and angrier and when the idiot dabs his brakes the responsible drivers find they are all too close to each other and on a
good bad day they get shunted front and back.
Another thing idiots can do is wave the responsible driver past when it safe for them to overtake knowing there is fairly often a police car checking speeds just around the next bend. Mrs C2 is currently ahead of me (1-0) with the speed checks - but I keep trying.
After following the same route to work for 12 years one starts to look for ways to make it more interesting.

Har har har har. The motoring gods have mightily taken their revenge. Last night Mrs C2's car was shunted from behind while parked. Amazingly there was a note on the front (not much back left to attach a note to) "Sorry - handbrake failed [subtext pissed as a rat] and a phone number. On calling the number the guy said he was supposed to be on holiday to which Mrs C2 pointed out that she was supposed to be at work. Mrs C2 has taken my car so she can go to see her mother on the other side of the country (only 300 miles away) and I am stuck at home for the few holidays I get during the absolutely glorious weather.
If you think this is going to make me show any sort of respect to the kind of lunatic that can't even miss a parked car you are very much mistaken.
In Gulliver's Travels there are islands with horses and small people and big people. I seem to be stuck on the island with all the lunatics on it. A guy is driving while ten times over the legal limit for illegal drugs, he hits three cars and runs over a child. This is all about driving cars so having legal limits for illegal drugs isn't a contradiction. What follows is a serious punishment - I mean really serious punishment - the kind of punishment that sends a message to all who think taking drugs and running over children is the kind of thing you can do with impunity. Yep - banned from driving for three years. Akshully, twixt you and I, I don't think a ban will akshully stop him driving - I don't think it is even intended to. That is the island I live on.
