Somebody went out and caught a photograph of the Space Station passing in front of the Moon. (It seems to be the little bright spot to the left of the Moon's terminator, a little below the center.)

Get on YouTube and look at the kind of views you would like to have and then look at the cost of what they have...rinse and repeat...

Hey, I found an astronomy club in my area. They meet twice monthly, and I think I'll attend the next ''meeting.''

You might also want to get a book written for the home amateur astronomer about what you can expect to see and more background information about what you are actually seeing.
People tend to by these books after they get a telescope but I was always the type that bought them before I even had the telescope (or anything else I was planing on buying). It makes you more knowledgeable before you make the purchase and when you first start using it.
This is what I've settled on.
Gskyer Telescope, 80mm AZ Space Astronomical Refractor Telescope, German Technology Scope (sold on amazon, and it received nearly 5 full stars)
I hope I'm happy with it.
See anything good? I looked last night - no stars no nothing. Might be that beyond a certain level of grumpiness you stop getting any stars. Grrr. Who needs stars anyway.
I’m sure you’re all aware of the stare gazing apps, but if not, you should check them out. Even the free ones are pretty cool. My nieces love them. They turn your smartphone into a telescope and provide tons of information about the planets, constellations, etc. They even allow you to travel back through time and see the planets at earlier stages. Some of them even allow you to point the phone downward and peek right through the earth to see what people on the other side of the world are seeing.
