Virgin Galactic appear to have received all the necessary FAA approvals and have announced the start of commercial space flights with their fleet of rocket planes. They will be flying a suborbital scientific mission this month, and their first private astronaut excursion in August.

Given the nature of their hardware, hopefully they can maintain a flight cadence that creates a revenue stream for them.

Virgin Galactic is flying their first commercial flight. It's a scientific mission purchased by the Italian Air Force.

NASASpaceflight.com's Jack Beyer (a pilot, an extraordinary aviation photographer and a good guy) goes on a "space flight" in Virgin Galactic's flight simulator.
