A gang of aggressive wild turkeys has prevented mail delivery to more than two dozen homes in Rocky River, a Cleveland suburb. The unsafe conditions have plagued mail carriers for three weeks, forcing residents to pick up their mail at the Post Office. According to the mayor, city ordinances don’t permit the turkeys to be disposed of.
Notices have been dispensed requesting that citizens cease feeding the birds, to encourage the avian mob to go elsewhere. While U.S. Postal employees have been assaulted by beaks and possibly flailing limbs, no severe injuries requiring medical treatment have been reported so far.
