It doesn't appear as if the exploit worked, however it's to be just on the safe side. It should of fixed the problem you were having (at least I hope)
You fixed it! Thanks Stryder!
Anybody else having problems with Firefox 57 (nicknamed Quantum -- the landmark version with the huge speed increase and other changes)? I switched to Opera browser a few months ago so no big deal. But after trying out the new Fox for curiosity's sake I noticed it either showed only the mobile mode of SciVillage or wouldn't load the site at all. Whereas Opera had no problems. Maybe just a temporary glitch that Firefox was more sensitive too via its recent radical alterations under the hood.

I'm using it currently. The update literally kicked a few of the add-on's I used to the kerb so I'm having to find alternative methods to do things.
As for the Mobile/Destop problem
Currently
http://m.scivillage.com and
http://mobile.scivillage.com point to:
https://www.scivillage.com/?m-redirection=mobile
Should you need to get the desktop version back up you can use:
https://www.scivillage.com/?m-redirection=desktop
I'll try to work out why it is otherwise doing it in the meantime.
very likey new look

Thanks to the recent changes, there's now a Firefox add-on that also permits us to install Chrome Store's add-ons into FF. In case we can't find replacements for some extensions.
Chrome Store Foxified (Firefox)
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox...-foxified/
For example, some of the Firefox legacy add-ons that have not made the transition to the WE format yet are
UnMHT and
Single File / Archive. But their Chrome counterparts are available for installation:
Save As MHT (Chrome)
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detai...obkc?hl=en
Single File (Chrome)
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detai...pkle?hl=en
One drawback with the Chrome Store Foxified (CSF) add-on, though, is that you have to be signed-in to a Firefox account in order for that to register a Chrome extension and keep it permanently installed in the browser.
Whereas in contrast, Opera has its own version of CSF but does not require you to be signed-in to an Opera account to keep an installed Chrome add-on.
Download Chrome Extension (Opera)
https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/d...tension-9/
The potential loss of certain Firefox legacy add-ons that I was using is partly why I switched to Opera several weeks back. Another reason was its built-in VPN. But I don't like the fact that Opera only has a 32-bit version. Which in addition now seems at least slightly to mildly slower than Firefox 57's 64-bit browser after the speed overhaul (and probably FF's 32-bit version, too).

While reading down a page of posts, the page often goes back to the top, and then scrolling doesn't work anymore.
I had another look at the JQuery and Modal system that Mybb uses. Prior to the software update I'd fixed a bug that existed there, and apparently after the update it reverted back to the bug. The problem meant that the login box and open buddy list windows weren't being shown and likely caused a bunch of other weird results. I'm not sure if it will fix the scrolling issue you are having Elte as I can't seem to recreate it.
I've tried a couple of different browsers, most tend to take you to the most recent post (which is set in the profile, but is also the default of people that aren't logged in)
If you could tell me if you still have the same effect even when logged out, it might help narrow down the problem.
Incidentally, if you find the website sluggish today there is a likelihood that the host is having a problem with one of it's other clients eating all the process time up on the servers. I'll see what I can do about getting it fixed.

Thanks Stryder. I noticed that the reversion to page top and scrolling problem seem to be gone when I turn off the data saver on Chrome.
Another thing I noticed was when I tried to go directly to page 3 in this thread, the wait arrow would just keep spinning.
For some reason the text of the forum seems to switch to center alignment when one is logged off, but returns to left (normal) alignment when logged in. Or at least that's my current encounter with how it seems to be happening. The pattern to this alignment switching might have been more arbitrary at times before this.
