These old ads are great. (I'm an historical relic myself, so I get nostalgic.)
The first one, 'take amphetamines!', looks like it might be a WWII-era army air corps poster. I believe that they probably did issue amphetamines to pilots and air crew. (I suspect that the Navy and Air Force still do.) It can take many hours to fly to a combat zone, from the UAE in the Persian Gulf to ISIS targets in Syria for example, all alone in a cramped cockpit in the darkness of night, with no lights except the glow of the instruments and the ceaseless white-noise sound of the jet engine. It's awfully easy to fall asleep.
