Apparently back in the 1940's a doctor recommended that she do it. It certainly seems to have worked in her case. I guess that doctors today are saying that moderate drinking can be downright good for you.

Prohibitionist: "But she might have lived to be 124 if she hadn't drank at all!"

I wonder if there's not some synergistic effect from combining the beer with the whisky.

On a sadder note, I learned yesterday that being lonely is as bad for your health as smoking 15 cigarettes a day!
So I have resolved to be less lonely. That or take up smoking.
