The title inspired me to write a little ditty. I have a tune in my head but I can't convey it to you. These are just the first two verses...

God is an Ontic substance
A solid, a liquid or a gas
You can put him on your plate
You can pour him in your cup
You can fart him out your ass.

God is an Ontic substance
My friend he's very, very real
He's everywhere in space
He's everyplace in time
He's stronger than the Man of Steel

I'm inclined to agree. Things and events simply are (or aren't). It's human beings, or whatever other sentient beings it is, that dub some of those things and events 'evil'.

I'd guess that the category of 'evil' arose in the course of our ancestors evolution as social animals. Some behaviors are conducive to the coherence and effective common-purpose of our groups (families, tribes, villages or nations). Others (such as preying on other members of the group) aren't.
