An explosion this morning in Portland's increasingly trendy and upscale 'alphabet district' completely leveled a 110 year old building and damaged several other adjoining buildings. Apparently the cause was a gas leak. Seven people were injured, including three firemen who had reported to a gas-leak call. Some reports say that gas line was ruptured during construction work in the area. It sounds like the building hosted a cafe.
