I think I have it .. but combined with arrogance and vanity.
Recently I bought a car. The showroom had super shiny reflective widows and I could see an old guy approaching the door .. like about the same age as my grandfather not long before he died. In my head I don't look a day over thirty so kind of surprising to find the old guy must actually be me.
Many years ago.. when we really were young and beautiful..
Mrs C2 had a friend .. she was kind if 'come hithering' on the bed when hubby (soon to be ex-hubby) pointed out that she looked like a beached whale.

I never allow anyone to photograph me. I hate the way I look in them--just this obese old man. According to my dreams I identify as around 25-30 so the struggle to lose weight is important to me. I only look in the mirror when I trim my beard and brush my teeth and seem ok with the frontal presentation there. Otherwise I don't look at myself as I pass by to use the restroom. I have a purple motion-activated nightlight in the bathroom that keeps it dimly lit in there. Just part of the daily logistics of BDD.

I have the advantage of a wife that tells me to shut up whenever I start moaning about being old .. so 'being old' isn't a permitted thought. It is (apparently) perfectly normal for women to force you to become the sort of person you wouldn't recognize .. then they start saying "You're not the man I married" .. sometimes leading to divorce and the selection of a new victim. Think of it has having dodged a bullet.
I have the sort of diet that predisposes a person to look ill rather than obese. Might be better (might not). Whether through brain washing or 'other' I have no particular interest in the person I see in the mirror.. it is possible (but unlikely) that I could improve him .. but why bother? Self-improvement motivation factor = 0.

Officially, clinical manuals like the DSM-5 exclude a BDD diagnosis if an individual's primary concerns are focused strictly on body fat or weight when an actual, observable condition of higher weight exists, meaning weight-centric distress in people with higher BMIs is typically evaluated as an eating disorder or general body dissatisfaction rather than BDD.

We all know you obsessively lift weights to try to get women. As if they will lust after you like you lust after yourself in the mirror.

I don't lift, I do calisthenics. I'm not looking to build mass or for show, and I typically only workout about 15-20 minutes a day. I just want strength and longevity (mostly in the form of strengthened joints).
Nice caricature from an asexual who loathes his own body... imagining that anyone who doesn't is a narcissist. No, some of us just seek improvement for its own good and direct benefits... and we have the willpower to accomplish something. Alien, huh?
But... I notice you lashed out instead of answering (or simply ignoring) the question asked. So sensitive.
