It seems as much that it was the Lord Protectors themselves that incrementally moved away from the proles, or replaced them with marginalized population groups. Because their accelerating moral nobleness demanded conceiving the lowbrow hoi polloi as the source of bigotry and social injustice. The latter problems persisted even after the intellectual establishment was providing guidance -- if not outright running things at times -- so another factor (the common folk) was clearly to blame.

VIDEO EXCERPTS: The party of the left was always the party of the working classes [...] what's happened over here is the Labour Party is no longer the party of the working man. They don't want to talk to those people, they become the party of the urban elite, and the working class have gone to the right.

[...] So the are the elites here? It's both the Conservatives and Labour. I can't see either of those parties winning another election. That's a political revolution.

In America, it's the Democrats and the Republicans. Well, the Republicans are unrecognizable now. They're they're sort of a cult of personality. They've become Trump's party and the Democrats have not learned the lesson of the last election.

I don't think they're going to put up a winning candidate. I don't think so. That's a huge change that something shifted in our politics which is very interesting. It's unprecedented in our lifetimes.

[...] What advice would you have to a young working-class man or woman who feels like their agency is stripped from them?

No one else cares. Or no one else cares enough. [...] No one no one cares about you more than you do. ... So have agency and do something. I think that idea of like going, "Oh, it's all stacked against you" is empathy and it doesn't work.

[...] The original Marxism was about the redistribution of wealth, which I think is very valid, right? American Marxism or Woke is about the redistribution of status and saying there are different status hierarchies.

[...] The reason Woke arose is because we sent loads and loads of people to universities and they did Mickey Mouse degrees in cultural studies. and they came out and wondered "Where's the life I was promised? Where's my where's my interesting life? Where's the money? Where's the house? Where's my family? Where is everything?"

So the overproduction of intellectual elites leads to this suicidal empathy. Where a society is so empathetic that it no longer acknowledges what it is. It hates itself. (RELATED: Jimmy Carr)
