In crayon... CSAR 25:17 is a joke verse (knowingly not a Bible verse), based on artistic license taken in Pulp Fiction. It was not used as a joke in the prayer. It was an earnest prayer for missions, like the rescue of the downed pilot and weapons system officer. Yes, if evil people intend to kill our solders, we will absolutely pray for them to be stopped, by any means necessary. The Bible has many examples of God commanding people to wage war (which you obviously don't know, even while you lie about knowing Christianity so well).

No Christian would quote a line from a violent film like Pulp Fiction as if it were a Bible verse to justify killing. And certainly not while praying. It's interesting how atheists are suddenly so up in arms about President Trump jousting with the Pope, posting a light-hearted meme about his larger-than-life role healing America, and about Pete Hegseth's use of an adaptation of a Bible verse from the Combat Search and Rescue community.
The old stereotype of Republicans were that they were all tightly moralistic and judgmental prudes waving Bibles as they condemned all the free and open, liberated, open-minded people. The "Religious Right" was what they called it.
Then along come President Trump and his people who aren't particularly religious and obviously like to have a bit of fun.
And the atheists totally lose it. How dare he deviate from their stereotype!
After a generation of total disrespect, of insulting religion in every way possible, they are outraged when President Trump has some fun with it.
I think that at least two serious points can be made.
The Democrats obviously hope that this controversy, largely of the their own making, can be used to split MAGA by prying conservative Christians away from the insufficiently devout Trump. They hope that somehow conservative Christians can be induced to embrace open borders, anti-patriotism, race and "gender" divisiveness, men pretending to be women and vice-versa, sordid crime-ridden city streets, higher taxation, rampant welfare state fraud, endless "green" boondoggles, one-party control of media, education and government... and the left's rampant atheism... just because President Trump doesn't fit the left's own stereotype of a religious bigot.
Yeah right, that's gonna work.
And secondly, this stuff illustrates how today's excessively moralistic politics is largely coming from the left. Who are the ones who are always condemning the morality of their opponents: 'racist!', ''bigot!', 'misogynist!', 'homophobe!', 'transphobe!', 'xenophobe!', 'fascist!'. It's a whole litany of moral insults and fire-and-brimstone condemnations. Just about every political policy that they advocate for is justified by moral arguments of one kind or another. All implying that anyone who opposes their agendas isn't just mistaken, but flat-out evil.
It's another illustration of how President Trump has flipped the American political script. The Democrats are now the party of the ruling government/media/education elites, while the Republicans are the party of the People. The Democrats are the tightly-wound intolerant party calling down moral judgments while Trump is having fun poking them with a stick.
