The source for the name of Magnus, Robot Fighter? Apparently that was instead inspired by some character named "Maximus" in the Mary Perkins newspaper comic strip. Not sure how you get "Magnus" from "Maximus", but that was Russ Manning's story and he was sticking to it.

EDIT: Wow. Just randomly came across something about Magnus Carlsen, the chess GOAT. Suddenly "Magnus" keeps popping up in completely unrelated ways. Routinely delete cookies, trackers and other stored information in the browser, so the internet gods aren't deriving associations from that.

This post showed up on my FB page from long ago so I've completely forgotten where I got Magnus from. But evidently it was fated to be seeing how it is cursing you now with annoying synchronicities! lol
