So as usual you have no arguments just insults. Moving on then..

If you can't justify free will existing as being the same as determinism, you can't. Got it.

When I have to justify everything I bring up in a casual and friendly conversation to your griping interrupting ass, it will be time for me to fly this coop.

No one said you "have to"... oh so defensive one. If you can't, you can't. GOT IT. No big deal.

Hate to burst your ego bubble, but I have not the slightest inclination nor obligation to justify anything I post about here to you. In short, the world doesn't revolve around you.

It depends on the genre. Despite woke universities working hard to make women the majority in science and engineering, a solid majority of actual professional writing in these subjects is by males. The same thing is true in the more technical areas of philosophy, like epistemology, metaphysics (in the philosophical sense), philosophical logic and the like. (We do see a lot of female "science writers" in the pages of Scientific American and similar publications.)
Female writers certainly dominate romance novels, where they are probably 90% of both the authors and readers. But they also seem to be the majority of mystery novel authors and readers though we do see lots of men reading and writing these (men like puzzles). I think that women are well represented in psychology and social science writing as well. Along with probably being the majority of writers in areas like literature and literary theory.
I agree that women write about sex far more often than men do. But it might not be sex so much as it's feelings and interpersonal relationships. That's where the main focus of female interest seems to be. Romance novels obviously are all about feelings and relationships. But so are mystery novels and psychology, where observing how people relate and what seems off to the psychologist or the sleuth come into play. The more highbrow sorts of literature tend to be character studies, all about feelings and relationships, so they skew towards a female sensibility as well.
Most popular titles that one finds down at the local Barnes and Noble seem to be. But it doesn't seem to me to be true in technical or scholarly writing in many fields. If one is interested in spacecraft or aviation, it's overwhelmingly male authors and readers, I'd wager.
Maybe. We are likely to see gender polarization if men write for men and women write for women.
At this point the topic of the essay seems to swerve dramatically.
Well, if a growing percentage of males aren't getting laid, that would suggest that a corresponding portion of females aren't getting laid either.
I'd guess that the writer's "most beautiful female friends" occupy somewhat high-ranking positions in their organizations, make a lot of money and think very highly of themselves. They are the kind of women who sit in little groups in the more upscale singles bars complaining "where are all the men?" when they are literally surrounded by men. What they mean, of course, is where are all the men worthy of me ??. As women crash through glass ceilings, they find themselves with fewer and fewer mating prospects unless they are willing to "date down" so to speak.
Well, if women surround themselves with female subcultures, of course they won't be exposed to male subcultures. If they want to meet guys, go where the guys are. Get interested in the kind of things men are interested in. Don't be so self-absorbed.
The reverse is true too. Now that women populate an increasingly separate subculture, guys who want to meet girls need to show interest in girl stuff like Taylor Swift and astrological charts. (Except that Taylor Swift and astrological charts seem more like high-school girl things and probably won't interest the "most beautiful female friends" cohort.)
Yeah, I guess that feminism has screwed up a lot of women's heads. Given the baleful influence that homosexuality has on so much of popular culture (feminists and homosexuals are the Democratic party's two core constituencies), I'd guess that the goal is to turn as many women as possible into lesbians. But heterosexual women's (those horrible "cis"-women) sex drives keeps getting in the way of achieving that oh-so-"progressive" utopia where men are redundant (from the female perspective).
On one hand it's easy. Many/most lesbians aren't really sexually attracted by other women. It's more that they feel more comfortable socializing with other women. Women will pair up and form long term largely-platonic relationships with other women. It's feelings and relationships, which is the female thing. Except that heterosexual sex drive thing keeps screwing everything up.
And people wonder why the birth rate continues to plunge...

Quote:There’s something perverse in using the consumption of such writing to conclude that most books are now for women

Quote:Perhaps all that has happened is that women of this generation simultaneously believe their elders about what men are and yet have continued to desire men. If men are monsters, if masculinity is a monstrosity, but women keep desiring men, and the more masculine the better, then women must desire monstrosity. This has a certain intuitiveness, and it helps to explain the seeming contradiction in the desires of ambitious self-proclaimed feminists like Romy being aroused by domination.

Yeah...wouldn't want the practice and ideal of men loving men and women loving women to "subvert" the traditional heteronormative values like it did in 5th BC Greece and early 20th century Paris. God only knows how many decent straight women and men were "turned" by reading novels about dykes and fairies and women's libbers. But it does set one to wondering why, if sexuality is naturally so rigid and binary, it is so easily twisted and deformed by just thinking about alternative ways of getting off. Ah well..MAGA and The Moral Majority (are they still around?) will remedy the situation in short order I'm sure. Maybe they'll restore the old FCC censorship laws of the 40's and 50's like the Hays Code and rid bookstores and movie theaters of all traces of homoerotic/feminist imagery. Get those arrogant and overeducated broads back into the kitchen in high heels and pearl necklaces where they belong! Yesiree Bob!
