Not voting literally means you decided you were irrelevant... by your own inaction. If you weren't irrelevant, you'd at least go and cast a protest vote by either voting against the one you disliked most or throwing away your vote on an independent candidate. Either way, you could then at least say you cared enough to matter. Apathy is not an argument, no matter how many people are apathetic.
No it doesn't. It means neither candidate suited you and so you chose not to vote. There is no moral imperative to vote when the system can't provide you with a desireable candidate. To vote just to vote is to be a dumb sheep.

Yes, you absolutely do have the right to make yourself irrelevant. But the consequence of making yourself irrelevant is that your opinion on the subject ceases to matter.

What happened that so many people stayed at home? Perhaps the bipartisan system is no longer workable. What kind of candidate would we vote for? And what changes need to be made to enable that? Politics is a lot more than who you last voted for.
You can't demand that your opinion is somehow relevant. It isn't. Deal with it.
